LYA FINSTON

​

is an artist and printmaker currently based in Iowa City, where she is pursuing her MFA in Printmaking at the University of Iowa with a secondary emphasis in Cinema.

​

Lya has formerly served as a Printmaking TA and Shop Technician for Bucknell University, a Studio Fellow at Spudnik Press, a publishing assistant at Hoofprint, and an Access Services Assistant at the Ryerson & Burnham Library of the Art Institute of Chicago. She also has experience projecting DCPs and 35mm film at the Campus Theatre in Lewisburg, PA.

Lya graduated from Oberlin College in 2018 with a BA in Studio Art and German Language. She was originally born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Cranford, NJ.
